In an era of globalization and information society; international cooperation amongst academic institutions is a key element to present solutions to world problems in order to foster local, national and regional development. Public administration is a discipline that, by its own nature and participation in the institutional life of a country, requires a thematic specialisation and demands a regionalisation in order to distinguish those specific aspects and encourage the international trends of administrative sciences in the region.

The International Institute of Administrative Sciences has created regional groups related to the thematic study and application of administrative sciences.
LAGPA intends to be an organisation of Latin American professionals involved in the field of public administration, such as academicians, practitioners, researchers, trainers or scholars.
